Overview

Vafi Atelier is a Mumbai interior design and turnkey construction firm working across residential, commercial and hospitality projects in Mumbai, Delhi, Srinagar and Dubai. I designed and built its website on Next.js 16 and React 19 as a multilingual, animated showcase that carries a project from first drawing to final handover.

The challenge

An interiors firm is judged on taste before anyone reads a word. The site had to feel as considered as the studio's work, show projects across four cities, explain a design-and-build model clearly, and reach clients who read English, Arabic or Marathi, all without sacrificing speed or accessibility.

The solution

I built it with Next.js 16, React 19, TypeScript and Tailwind CSS v4, with next-intl serving English, Arabic (right-to-left) and Marathi from one codebase. Motion is part of the design: GSAP and Lenis drive scroll-led storytelling sections, Three.js powers a curved 3D gallery of project photographs, and Motion handles page transitions, all with reduced-motion fallbacks. Projects are stored as schema-validated content, and services, leadership, process and a quote flow with its own enquiry API complete the site. Build scripts audit colour contrast, translation coverage and SEO before every release.
