Overview

Batch Of Legends is a premium lifestyle brand making apparel for school alumni: polos, tees, caps and totes carrying the crests and landmarks of the institutions that shaped them. Its first official collection is for the Old Sanawarian Society, the alumni fraternity of The Lawrence School, Sanawar. I designed and built the store on Shopify, ready to add a new institution's collection whenever the brand signs one.

The challenge

Alumni merchandise is usually an afterthought: a clunky order form, a spreadsheet of sizes and a single delivery date. Batch Of Legends wanted to sell it like a fashion label, with the emotion of the old school behind every piece, while running proper e-commerce for alumni spread across India and abroad. It also needed a way to bring new schools and societies on board as partners.

The solution

I built a custom Shopify theme in Liquid and JavaScript with a monochrome, editorial look that lets the crests and photography carry the colour. Each partner institution gets its own collection page with its crest and history, so the Old Sanawarian Society collection reads like a tribute rather than a product list. Products use size variants with a size guide, plus Buy it now, wishlist, compare and an Ask About This Product form. A slide-out cart shows how far the shopper is from free shipping, estimates shipping for any country, and takes order notes and discount codes before checkout. A Partner With Us page with its own enquiry form invites schools and alumni bodies to commission official merchandise, and Cloudflare in front of Shopify keeps the store fast for alumni overseas.
